Aligote

Aligote

Aligoté is a white grape variety grown in the Burgundy region of France. Known for its high acidity and floral and herbal notes, it is often used in dry wines and sparkling wines. Aligoté is also grown in Eastern Europe, where it has a strong following, and in California where it can bring acidity and aroma to richer, less structured wines. Aligoté is hardy and adaptable to different soil types, but is considered a ""reliable"" grape variety rather than a more challenging one.
