Elegant, balanced and smooth. The 2019 vintage was marred by drought, which the old vines stood up well against in the dry conditions thanks to the vineyards bore-based irrigation system. This ensured excellent leaf canopy and shading through the fruit ripening part of the season. White grapes were picked fully ripe with strong flavours, sugar and acid levels. The Semillon wines show elegant citrus characters with a crisp structure.

A Huntington Semillon is fresh, delicate and crisp.

Highlights:

  • Blending of the fruit added integrity and structure to the wine due to a better balance and integration.
  • Fermentation lasted 14 days at a lower temperature range to preserve the fruit flavours
  • Bottled 23/05/2019

Reviews

16.5/20 points by Tamlyn Currin at JancisRobinson.com

"Grapefruit florals on the nose. Very precise on the palate. Greengage, sweet lime and key lime, ripe grapefruit – all the fruit directed to arrow-sharp triangularity, although there is very subtle curvature of stone fruit right at the back of the palate and a touch of petrichor on the finish. Mouth-watering squeezed-lemon-and-tonic freshness. Very Semillon. I suspect this will become a little nuttier and smokier with age, but it's good to drink now. Get out the smoked salmon or ceviche."
