The Vineyard

From the prestigious La Groletta and Conca d’Oro crus, in the hilly Valpolicella Classica zone.

La Groletta Vineyard
La Groletta Vineyard has always stood as a symbol of the Valpolicella Classica area. La Groletta grapes are the extraordinary result of the meeting of two great personalities: the hill of La Grola and the Valpolicella’s indigenous varieties. The excellent exposure of the vineyard, which enjoy the sun’s warm rays and the cool breezes that come from nearby Lake Garda, allows the grapes to produce their very best.
The wines from La Groletta are notable for their bold structure. It is usually quite direct, frank and masculine, and well-suited to ageing in bottle. These soils are ideal for the activation of typical aromatic aromas, where the strength of the fruit and darker spice prevail.

Conca d’Oro Vineyard
Soil with a high fossil content indicate the presence of active limestone, which is thought to contribute to wine quality. This vineyard is therefore considered to be very prestigious. The presence of limestone in soil plays an essential role in enriching the fragrance, finesse and elegance of wines, helping to bring out distinctly floral aromas. It can also enhance flavours on the palate, helping the wine to maintain a sense of crisp and crunchy fruit. The wines from this vineyard tend to be long-lived and can improve significantly with ageing. They also offer great structure and complexity.

Winemaking Techniques

Manual harvest and selection of the grapes, followed by drying for about 3 months in a well-ventilated loft. Fermentation in stainless steel for 25 days at 25°-30°C. 3 years’ maturation in 35 and 65 hl Slavonian oak casks.
